The Fall

Be kind to me,

 you said to the oval mirror

  & I followed

   through the palm infested night

    a simple path reflected simply

     brothers alike brothers

      kiss is un beso to a kiss

       our twin images akin our

        mirror divided & announced

         can you hear us? Opened

          to a subtropical void

           that’s only us going

            carnivorous. Flowers

             slowly unpicked

              with symmetrical hands

               into the light

                we plunged

                 down the cracks.

                  We didn’t have to fall

                   Listen to our tongues:

                    how we met, how we stayed as one, how we spent the first night together how we

                We plunged

               into the light

              with symmetrical hands
