The Fall

By Leo Boix

Be kind to me,

you said to the oval mirror

  & I followed

   through the palm infested night

    a simple path reflected simply

     brothers alike brothers

kiss is un beso to a kiss

       our twin images akin our

        mirror divided & announced

         can you hear us? Opened

          to a subtropical void

           that’s only us going

            carnivorous. Flowers

             slowly unpicked

              with symmetrical hands

               into the light

                we plunged

                 down the cracks.

                  We didn’t have to fall

                   Listen to our tongues:

how we met, how we stayed as one, how we spent the first night together how we

how we met, how we stayed as one, how we spent the first night together how we

                   listen to our tongues

                  we didn’t have to fall

                 down the cracks.

                We plunged

               into the light

              with symmetrical hands

             Slowly unpicked

            carnivorous flowers,

           that’s only us going

          to a subtropical void.

         Can you hear us? Opened

        mirror, divided & announced.

       Our twin images akin our

kiss is un beso to a kiss

     brothers alike brothers

    a simple path reflected simply

   through the palm infested night

  And I followed,

you said to the oval mirror.

Be kind to me.
