i.

Immune in absence

you gave me the permission

for light investment.

Watching the hues

shadow observation

light streaming.

All these belong to you.

I am responsible only for the blind spots.

ii.

You want to be the flower that grows in my garden.

The fence cracked,

an inner mystery.

The hardness is intimate

you are all fruity now.

A bowl of summer peaches.

Deferred.

You dressed up.

Preparing yourself, planning your escapes.

Your elusiveness is a craft.

I gather my tools.

I repeat a steady routine.

Planting, watering, digging the soil.

I embody you.

You are an ambassador, visiting the bulbs.

It won’t be long until summer.

Be patient.

iii.

Your body becomes a tough shell,

you stand still.

The silence in me is twitching.

You turned your back on me,

nostrils exposed, itchy.

You won’t be able to hear me.

I cracked that rose off your throat.

You never liked flowers anyway.

You were a different kind of sweet.
